Students For Life Face Bullies: A Small Group Bringing About Big Changes

I first became acquainted with this brave group of young people one summer at a local county fair. The high school and college kids at the Students for Life booth were eager to share with me lots of wonderful facts about pre-born babies. Well-informed, articulate, polite, these young people are on a mission to save as many pre-born children as possible by speaking up in schools and universities across America—and on the streets of our nation’s capital.

On October 17, more than 50 brave Students for Life (studentsforlife.org) members showed up for the “Women’s March” in Washington, D.C.—with a message of life in the face of the pro-abortion march. Carrying their pro-life banners and signs just ahead of the march, these students let the world know they support “Equal Rights for all Women—Born and Preborn.” Others held signs proclaiming, “I am the Pro-Life Generation.”

Arriving in front of the U.S. Supreme Court, these young women continued to hold their banners high as the pro-abortion forces hurled insults, gave rude gestures, yelled obscenities, and spray-painted the students’ signs, clothes, and more.

Bravely standing with the Students for Life was Lori, a pregnant member of the group, whose daughter is due in just over one week. Wanting the world to recognize the humanity of her pre-born baby, Lori projected the heartbeat of her child in the womb over a loudspeaker for all to hear.

“Your kid should be aborted!” yelled a “women’s rights” activist, while others laughed as they piled on more insults.

In a letter shared later with Students for Life supporters, Lori wrote, “My preborn daughter and I were repeatedly verbally attacked, especially when projecting her little quick heartbeat over a megaphone, a sweet innocent sound to us, but a threat to their denial of the pre-born’s humanity.”

The group had to hire bodyguards to keep Lori and her preborn child safe from the attacks of the abortion activists. Nevertheless, Students for Life are adamant, stating “. . . no amount of hate, abuse, or vandalism can silence the Pro-Life Generation. We will always stand for Truth. We will prevail.”

I thank God for young people who are willing to stand up for what they believe is right, no matter what. And I hope and pray that these brave and courageous young people will give us the courage to do the same.

Clothing, signs, equipment (including two expensive iPhones), were vandalized with orange spray paint. Pro-abortion radicals even spray-painted Students For Life volunteers on the front lines!

Lines are being drawn between good and evil. May we stay firmly committed to God’s Commandments, and the faith of His Son, Jesus the Christ (Revelation 12:17; 14:12).
