Rhode Island Democrats Propose Doubling Taxes On The Unvaccinated

God has given to each person the gift of free will—the ability to make choices. With this gift we can choose to love and to worship Him. Especially in the midst of tyrannical autocratic abuses like this one,

Rhode Island Senate Bill S.2552, will punish people who chose not to get the COVID shots, in several ways.

Bi-sexual Senator Samuel Bell is the lead legislator backing the bill, which mandates all Rhode Island residents, workers, and taxpayers receive a COVID-19 vaccine as well as any subsequent boosters that the state’s director of the department of health shall require. Bell is joined by fellow democrat Senators Mack, Acosta, Anderson, Seveney, and Mendes in introducing this bill.

Individuals will be fined 50 dollars, their personal income tax will be doubled, and employers will be fined 5,000 dollars each month for each "unvaccinated" employee. This bill makes no allowance for religious exemptions, or natural immunity, which even Pfizer admits is highly effective.

The medical exemption is nearly impossible to get.

A request for medical exemption must include notarized signatures of THREE "licensed physicians stating that the person is not a fit subject for immunization against COVID-19 for medical reasons."

Children who are "at least 10" must have their signatures notarized. This is a strange requirement for a 10-year-old who has no legal capacity.

Medical exemption requests must be submitted to the state's Department of Health, which has the "power to investigate" the request. All of this must happen within 40 days of a person becoming eligible for the dose.

This bill applies to anyone "who is eligible for immunization against COVID-19 and who resides in the State of Rhode Island, works in the State of Rhode Island, or pays personal income taxes to the State of Rhode Island," and even if the parents have the shot but their child under 16 does not, they still have to pay twice their state taxes.

Every business in Rhode Island that continues to employ even one person without this shot will be fined 5,000 dollars per month for each violation. This is 60,000 dollars in fines per year for just one uninjected person. This could crush businesses with fines. Businesses will have little choice but to fire every employee who doesn't provide proof of these shots.

In addition, this double layer makes this law apply even to people who just work or live inside the state. Anyone who lives outside the state and works inside, or vice versa, would still be caught by this bill.

Due to significant pushback in Rhode Island and national scrutiny, two of the Democrat senators who introduced the bill (Acosta and Mack) do not wish to speak about it anymore. They are trying to distance themselves from it.

Commentary

For authoritarian-minded leaders, the coronavirus crisis is offering a convenient pretext to silence critics and consolidate power. While Covid has largely subsided, autocratic governments’ dangerous expansion of power may be one of the pandemic’s most enduring legacies.

We are clearly living in Orwellian times, when the ambitions of tyrannical power are camouflaged by debased language, incoherent thought, and patent double-standards. Any dissent is shouted down as anti-science by the very people who claim that males can be females and vice-versa. Even in the church, we have seen individuals wrapped in the partisan robes of sanctimonious snobbery. These blue-draped star-bellied SDA sneetches loom over unJabbed members with all the finesse of Orwellian elitocrats.

But God has a much better plan for us. It’s called true worship, offered in that pristine environment of spirit and truth (John 4:24). And it—like God—is not coercive over our freedom of choice. In Him, we are free to choose.

To love, to worship and to live (Joshua 24:15).
