Helena Kerschner, shares her story about being brainwashed and manipulated into transitioning into a man, and how she freed herself from radical LGBTQ+ ideology. This is the heartwarming story of her journey as she detransitioned back into a woman.
Helena says fantasy and distorted reality were components of her gender confusion. During a difficult period of her life, she spent a lot of hours online where she was brainwashed into gender dysphoria and encouraged to think of herself as a boy.
She says when you are using social media as a young person you are bombarded with images that promote gender dysphoria and lead you to form beliefs apart from reality. She was convinced that she needed to take testosterone.
She bought into this lie for a period of three years, finally asking the question one evening amidst heart rending sobs: What happened to me? Why am I trying to be a boy??!!?!?

It has not been easy, and the whole experience seriously derailed my life in ways I could never have foreseen when I was that fifteen-year-old kid playing with pronouns on Tumblr.
I had been manipulated, taken advantage of, and involved in a cult-like community.
My story is not a fluke, and I am not uniquely troubled or irresponsible. What I am though, is fortunate, because there are others for whom the harm has been exponentially worse. Though there is much strength to be found in overcoming, the fact is that today, any young person who remotely struggles with self-esteem, making friends, fitting in to common gender roles, or body image is now vulnerable to being subjected to what amount to medical experiments that may permanently destroy the prior functioning of their bodies before they have had the chance to build identity and strength through the normal means of overcoming life’s challenges. I have seen firsthand that for some people, the medical and psychological damage is far beyond what could be considered a healthy amount of adversity.
I praise God for a brand plucked from the burning! May God adopt her into His family, and may many other young people get free from the cult-like cultural brainwashing that is seeking to devour them (1 Peter 5:8).
This video should be shown in every Adventist school this month. Mrs. Lisa Hardy should send out a memo to all SDA institutions to this effect. Instead of looking for ways to affirm the lies of a hostile culture, Seventh-day Adventists should be leading the charge of a wise, courageous spiritual warfare.
