Trust the Science? It's Okay to Be Fat, Says Doctor on Tiktok

Dr. Nicole Vangroningen at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California evidently took time off from getting her 27th booster shot to assure internet viewers that being obese is actually healthy.

Vangroningen went on to claim that being fat is “typically not a problem that requires immediate solving.”

Presumably, it only needs “solving” once an obese person has developed numerous fat-related diseases that greatly increase their risk of dying. She just wants obesity to be normalized.

Perhaps even more ludicrously, the doctor said “it is okay to not be healthy,” suggesting that people who suggest otherwise are engaging in “healthism,” adding “a good doctor will not judge you for being fat, they will not judge you for being unhealthy.” Did they judge you for being unvaxxinated? Seems like they did..

Vangroningen completely removes any responsibility from the equation, telling potential patients, “We are also here to help you if you decide to not make any changes at all”.

God forbid anyone end up under her “care”.

According to the CDC, “In the United States and worldwide, obesity is also associated with the leading causes of death, including deaths from diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and some types of cancer.”

Observations

  • The Adventist healthy lifestyle, if followed, results in some of the longest living people on earth, and the happiest. Obesity is not recommended by sane people, certainly not by us.

  • I agree that we shouldn’t be shaming people intentionally, and I'm all about about freedom of conscience. If you want to be overweight and unhealthy, that’s your choice. What I'm not okay with is fooling people into believing it's healthy to be extremely overweight and unhealthy. That is medically unethical.

  • From a business perspective, the more unhealthy people there are out there, the more patients this woman is likely to have. It’s a good business model.

  • In this crazy mixed-up world of Isaiah 3, being unhealthy is the new healthy. Apparently this doctor is dumb enough to think you’re dumb enough to believe her. Some will, sadly.

  • Remember when MSNBC related physical fitness to the “far right’s” rise and white supremacy? Yep.

  • The medical field is determined to kill whatever shred of credibility it still has left. And it is succeeding.

  • Notice the eyes. It’s always the eyes.

  • Healthism is the new racism, and being physically fit is a vestige of white supremacy.

  • This reminds me of all those Instagram influencers who said being fat was okay and should be encouraged. They're all dead now.

  • Ask yourselves WHY. Why are they pushing all this onto the people? From transgenderism to Fauci’s plucked-out-of-the-air-six-feet-social-distancing to obesity-is-now-healthy. Why?

  • If doing this thing called living and continuing to live is part of your goals, then by definition it would not be okay to be unhealthy, because it's counterproductive to your goal of continuing to be alive.

The Good Book

  • “And put a knife to your throat If you are a man given to appetite” (Proverbs 23:2).

  • “Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things” (Philippians 3:19).

  • “Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat, for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags” (Proverbs 23:20).

  • “Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him. For God's temple is holy, and you are that temple” (1 Corinthians 3:16).

  • “They tested God in their heart by demanding the food they craved” (Psalm 78:18).
