Liberal Adventism Weighs In On Transgender Statement

A statement on Transgenderism, or Gender Dysphoria, was voted by the executive committee of the Seventh-day Adventist Church during their annual Spring Meetings.

In his role as chairman, Ted Wilson urged the statement be voted “with the understanding we may be able to adjust a little phrasing here or there that might make it less abstract.”  He went on to say, “The last thing we want to do is chase people away from Christ and the Church.  We want them to come to the foot of the cross and His changing grace.”

The Biblical Research Institute Ethics Committee, led by Ekkehardt Mueller, associate director of the Biblical Research Institute, along with ethicists, Biblical scholars, theologians, sociologists, psychologist and members of the medical community, were put in charge of writing the statement.  It passed the Spring Council vote on April 10th.

SDA Kinship (whose use of the SDA name is a denominational puzzle and mockery) recently made this statement regarding the Transgender Document:

We encourage everyone in the LGBTIQ community--especially our transgender family--to remember this: no statement, vote, position or proposition can take away from you the depth of your experience, your journey, your truth, and the fact that God loves you just the way you are.  #youareloved  #jesusdiedforyoutoo  #experienceeaster

"Your truth" -- Postmodern liberals see truth as an internal construct, as fluid as gender dysphoria in western deviant culture.  They are committed to a subjective approach to truth (as if there was such a thing) not external objective absolute truth (which the Bible is).

"Your experience" -- For liberal man, experience is a universal adhesive that binds him to God and others.  It also dissolves the differences that may arise from belief in doctrine, thus doctrine can be set aside as "divisive."  In short, experience trumps the Bible in matters of culture.  This is not an overnight afterthought, but rather the culmination of a long process of liberalism encroaching into Adventist Academia and finding a friend in certain Adventist leaders and pastors.  As love of the world rises, love for truth diminishes.

Such things as the statement above (SDAKinship) are the epitome of worshiping the creature over the Creator (Romans 1:25).  The solution is to repent of our unbelief, and turn from our love of the world.  There is hope.

"Yet from the days of your fathers you have gone away from My ordinances and have not kept them.  Return to Me, and I will return to you,” says the LORD of hosts" (Malachi 3:7).
