Vatican Moves Global Pact on Education Event to October 15

March 4, 2020 NewsHound

The Congregation for Catholic Education announces that the Global Compact on Education will take place from 11-18 October 2020. The event had originally been scheduled for May 14, 2020.

The decision to reschedule the event was taken in light of the “uncertainty linked to the spread of Coronavirus, along with the decisions taken by public authorities on a global scale”, according to a press release from the Congregation for Catholic Education, which has been entrusted with task of organizing the event.

What is the Global Pact on Education? It is an event organized by Pope Francis to focus on young people around the world. It has these objectives:

  • In his address to diplomats, Pope Francis highlighted two key areas related to the Global Educational Pact: climate change and interreligious dialogue.  He said that one of the places where many young people “have become active is in calling the attention of political leaders to the issue of climate change.”

  • Bring about an an ecological conversion. This is radical environmentalism.

  • To promote social justice.

  • In May 2019, Pope Francis made a strong push for globalism, calling for a supranational, legally constituted body to enforce United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030) and to implement “climate change” policies. This has also been the work of Ganoune Diop. More recently, Francis said our “duty” is to “obey international institutions,” such as the United Nations and the European Union. The goal is to make Agenda 2030 into ‘hard law’ (legally enforceable).

  • Promote ecumenism by “healing the “horizontal fracture” between men of difficult cultures, religions and backgrounds.

  •  to guide young people to spiritual, human and social maturity.

  • When he launched the initiative last September, Pope Francis said that “a global educational pact is needed to educate us in universal solidarity and a new humanism.”

  • Repeating Hillary Clinton’s favorite aphorism, “It takes a village to raise a child,” Pope Francis asserted the need to create an “educational village” to face new challenges. Pope Francis omitted any reference to the prerogatives of parents as the primary educators of their children. They are coming for your children.

  • The Pope is inviting representatives of the main religions, international organizations and various humanitarian institutions, as well as key figures from the world of politics, economics and academia, actors, and prominent athletes, scientists and sociologists to sign a “Global Pact on Education.”

This event has been postponed to October 15, 2020 due to coronavirus concerns.

Interesting Tidbits:

  • In Roman Catholicism, the month of October each year is dedicated to the “Most Holy Rosary.” It was instituted to honor the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful. The practice of dedicating the entire month of October to the Holy Rosary developed toward the end of the last century.  This is, of course, unbiblical heresy.

  • October 15 is the Roman Catholic feast day of St. Teresa of Ávila—a Spanish nun and one of the great mystics and religious women of the Roman Catholic Church.

“And King Nebuchadnezzar summoned the satraps, prefects, governors, advisers, treasurers, judges, magistrates and all the other provincial officials to come to the dedication of the image he had set up” (Daniel 3:2).

This letter reaffirms the world church’s biblical teaching on human sexuality and created identity. More importantly, it warns that some Adventist schools have accommodated unbiblical views, and rightly states that the Conference cannot encourage families to send youth to such schools.
