Church Holds Drag Queen Story Hour For Children

NEW YORK—If you haven’t been following, the Drag Queen Story Hour is a phenomenon that has been plaguing sane society in public libraries for several years now. The sick mentality of those who crossdress and demand access to young children, however, isn’t limited to public libraries. In New York, one Lutheran Church even participated.

A drag queen who goes by the name “Reverend Yolanda” (how fitting?) is seen here dancing and dressing provocatively in Park Church Co-Op in Brooklyn, NY. And how fitting that there is a dead Jesus in the background?

A general cultural malaise touches us all to one extent or another. I am referring to how completely we have become accustomed to the normality of moral dysfunction. The constant media stream of scandals, broken lives and mayhem of every sort elicits from many of us barely more than a yawn. We have come to expect little else, even from our religious leaders—perhaps especially from our religious leaders.

The culture has built an idol to homosexuality and is now trying to force us all to celebrate it or face increasing political, cultural and even religious marginalization.

Put simply, culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone's lifestyle, you must either fear them or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. We don't have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.

This overall dysfunction is so pervasive in our culture that it is increasingly difficult for us to have a clear vision of spiritual progress. I believe God is calling each of us to be a shining model of holiness amidst a crooked sin-loving culture and church. He is able!
