GC Forced to Eliminate Campus Ministries Position Due To Tithe Parity Cuts

Due to the tithe parity changes that were voted at Annual Council 2019, the General Conference has had to make some adjustments to various ministries.

One of those adjustments is that the Public Campus Ministries department will be absorbed by the Youth Ministries Department. This eliminates the position of Jiwan Moon, who has done a good job of coordinating campus ministries around the world. May God find somewhere else for him to serve, is our prayer.

The North American Division requested Tithe Parity at their year end meeting in 2018, despite being the Division with the greatest financial resources. They wanted more of the tithe money to stay at the NAD, instead of going to foreign fields.

At the 2019 October Annual Council meeting, it was voted to grant their demand for tithe parity—to be phased in over a multi-year period. This has caused some financial changes at the GC, such as ministries cut, or absorbed into other departments.
