Jesus Wasn't Perfect, According to CNN's Don Lemon

During a recent July episode of CNN Tonight, CNN anchor (and struggling theologian) Don Lemon claimed Jesus "was not perfect."

While discussing the issue of statues and monuments of historical Confederate figures, homosexual news anchor Lemon said — to Catholic coworker Chris Cuomo,

“Jesus Christ — if that’s who you believe in, Jesus Christ — admittedly was not perfect when He was here on this earth.” So why are we deifying the founders of this country, many of whom owned slaves?"

Cuomo, despite his own religious beliefs, nodded along approvingly.

In 2011, writing about his faith and his (LGBT) sexual orientation, Lemon explained he no longer attends church services but does “believe in a higher power” (2 Thessalonians 2:11).

It is worth noting that the “Ruler of this world” (John 12:31) whom the Bible also refers to as the “Prince of the power of the air” is a ‘higher power’ (Ephesians 2:2) in the strictest sense of the term, though one slated for utter destruction (Ezekiel 28:18). As the the father of lies and homosexuality (John 8:44; Genesis 1:27-28; Ephesians 5:20-25; Mark 10:9) he will be reduced to ashes by God on That Day (Revelation 20:7-9).

Thus, when prominent men refer to Jesus as "‘imperfect’, we can know that they are doing the bidding of their father, the devil.

Jesus’ perfection is at the core of the substitutionary atonement — the central doctrinal belief that Jesus died for us — which grants salvation to those who put their faith in the Son of God.

Dr. Derwin L. Gray, a pastor based in North Carolina, tagged Lemon in a tweet, writing,

“Good sir, Jesus was perfect. He had no sin. He is the unblemished Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.”

Know your Bible, believe it, and hide its words in your heart, that you might not sin against your Heavenly Father (Psalms 119:11).

“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own native language, for he is a liar and the father of it” (John 8:44).
