The Game Just Changed, Due To Omicron's Mild Severity

The latest medical data indicates that the Omicron (Covid19) variant has less severe (or mild) symptoms.

Dr. Peter McCullough, MD, MPH joins Spicer & Co on NewsmaxTV, December 27, 2021, and discusses the government's failure to promote early treatment for high risk patients, the implications of reduced disease severity in the majority of Omicron cases, and the latest on COVID vaccine safety. People who get COVID-19 infections caused by the Omicron variant are less likely to need hospital care, compared with those infected by the Delta variant, according to two large new studies from the U.K. and South Africa.

These findings add to previous pockets of evidence suggesting that Omicron — while still contagious — may result in less severe symptoms than its predecessors.

“This is helping us quantify how much less severe Omicron is than Delta, and it appears to be between 40 to 75% reduced risk of hospitalizations, adjusted for many factors, which is very good,” said Eric Topol, MD, the editor-in-chief of Medscape and a cardiologist at Scripps Research Translational Institute in La Jolla, CA.

Yesterday came the news that CDC just reduced the quarantine time from 10 days to 5 days.

Without recommending sports, it is also noteworthy that NBA players now have a quicker return to play after testing positive for Covid. The NFL and NBA has seen coronavirus numbers soar in recent days, even with 97% of players vaccinated and over 70% of players boosted. Objective scientific conclusion: Covid vaccinations do not prevent you from getting Covid. Sorry. That’s the way it is.

More proof of the uncertainty: The Phoenix Suns had been listing Elfrid Payton as out and in the protocols throughout the day on Monday, then declared him available about 90 minutes before game time.

There have been nine NBA games postponed this season because a significant number of their vaccinated players got Covid. Chew on that one.

And check out the above video. It’s informative. Early treatment helps.

A lot.
