Trans Teen Given Two Funerals, One For Each Gender. The Madness Continues

“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness. Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!” (Isaiah 5:20).

A 15-year-old transgender teen who committed suicide has been given two separate funerals after the parents couldn’t agree on what gender and name to put on her headstone.

The father insisted on using the birth name, while the mostly woke mother wanted to use the name that the child chose after coming out as transgender. She wanted to be a boy, and that becomes a sacred viewpoint in our deeply confused culture.

Eventually, the parents agreed to split the ashes and put both names on separate memorials. However, the 15-year-old’s birth name will be issued on the official death certificate because in Western Australia, trans people under the age of 18 need the permission of both of their parents before they can legally change their names.

The child’s parents took the matter to the Family Court after failing to agree on a name for their child’s headstone.

The parents eventually came to an agreement. They divided the ashes in half and held separate funerals. All physical memorials like tombstones will have to use both first names.

What a mess.

What is causing such confusion in our world? There is a simple reason. Proverbs 9:10 says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.

That means, where there is no fear of God, there is no wisdom. There can be knowledge, but there is no wisdom. Western culture with all of its attainments is largely bereft of the fear of God, substituting knowledge for wisdom.

Most people don’t honor the Lord, respect Him, or hold the Almighty Creator of the Universe in awe. With that comes a lack of wisdom, a devastating kind of cultural stupidity suspended between the depraved mind of Romans 1:21-30 and the foolishness of Psalm 14:1.

Is there a solution? There is. It is found in that grand Bible verse “Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come” (Revelation 14:7). The Everlasting Gospel (v. 6) brings repentance, cleansing and freedom into our lives. It also opens the door to wisdom, God’s wisdom.

And God’s wisdom can keep us from doing a lot of dumb things. It has for me, and you.
