New Interim Lead Pastor Listed On Redlands SDA Church Website

As of 7 pm Monday night, there is no mention of pastor Kris Loewen on the Redlands SDA church website. He has been replaced by interim lead pastor Alger Keough.

Here is a quick timeline of the recent saga regarding the Redlands SDA pastor,

  • On June 13, Fulcrum7 ran a story about Redlands SDA pastor Kris Loewen, highlighting a Facebook post in which he said God is a she. He said feminist and queer theology are legitimate ways of faithfully reading the Scriptures, scorning patriarchal white-centered readings of Scripture (whatever that is). He further stated the Bible is not a perfect expression of the divine. The story was read widely.

  • Three days later, we ran a follow-up article outlining the qualifications of a Seventh-day Adventist pastor according to the 2020/2021 GC working policy. We provided contact information for church leaders (Sandra Roberts (SECC), Ricardo Graham (PUC), Alexander Bryant (NAD), and Ted Wilson (General Conference President), and invited our readers and concerned Seventh-day Adventists to contact these individuals.

  • On July 5th, we observed that Kris Loewen’s name is no longer on the Redlands SDA church website.

  • Thank you to those who took the time to contact these aforementioned leaders and share your concerns.
