Huge Train Wreck Across the Street From Southern Adventist University

COLLEGEDALE, Tenn. (WTVC) — A train derailed in Tennessee early Tuesday afternoon after it struck a tractor-trailer across the tracks carrying a large bridge beam, according to the Collegedale Police Department.

Officials said two Norfolk Southern Railway employees were taken to the hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries. They also said the truck driver was not hurt.

The Tennessee Department of Transportation said the roads near the crash scene are temporarily closed. Authorities urged drivers to avoid the area.

The crash happened near McKee Foods, where Little Debbie's snack cakes are made.

Norfolk Southern Train Derailment. There were 3 locomotives and 16 cars involved in the derailment. Two Norfolk employees sustained minor injuries.

Praise God there were no fatalities.
