Andrews University Board Will Choose a New President Today

The Andrews University board will meet today to decide the next president of the college.

A lot is riding on the choice. Recent trends at Andrews (which admittedly sits on stolen land) indicate a downward trajectory for the university, downplaying doctrine and Adventist distinctives as divisive, and elevating diversity, inclusion and equity (DIE) and social justice wokeness as the universal elements of our message. We are also informed that freshman enrollment is down again this year.

On the other side we have committed alumni, faculty and board members who value the biblical pillars of our Adventist faith, and prefer a president who is committed to these pillars and unmotivated by political correctness and social justice. Recent turmoil in the Architectural Department is a result of this clash of worldviews.

Two presidential choices encapsulating these different viewpoints are the current provost, Christon Arthur and the GC Associate Director of the Department of Education, John Wesley Taylor.

In our opinion, John Wesley Taylor would be a huge improvement over the other possibility.

What can you do? Three things:

Pray
Pray
Pray

Stay tuned.
