SPD Pushes For Women In Ministry

The South Pacific Division, under the leadership of Glenn Townend  has appointed a new member to the Division’s Discipleship Ministries Team (DMT).  Their goal is getting more women involved in ministry at all levels of the Church.  So they appointed Danijela Schubert to fulfill this task.

“The new role will focus on discipleship for women and will prioritise getting women into ministry and leadership roles in Church employment,” according to SPD president Glenn Townend.

It appears that gender is a big issue with the SPD.

Danijela Schubert has a doctorate in youth, family and culture and has a passion for seeing young women succeed.  She obtained this degree--like many other modern Adventists--from Fuller Theological Seminary.

"The older women likewise, ...... that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed" (Titus 2:3-5).
