One of the best ways to promote a lie is to discredit the truth and those who speak it. Today one of the easiest ways to discredit any truth is to label it a “conspiracy theory,” and those who speak it as, “conspiracy theorists.” Casting doubt upon truth as a means to deceive is not new. Lucifer used this method at the beginning of his selfish rebellion. It is an effective tactic when it is used by those in leadership positions.
Today if someone dares to question the agenda of our leaders, they are dismissed as having no credibility, if for no other reason simply because leadership disagrees with them. Good thing this didn’t happen in Jesus’ day or many would have missed their Messiah. Oh wait, they did!
Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said unto them, Why have ye not brought him? The officers answered, Never man spake like this man. Then answered them the Pharisees, Are ye also deceived? Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him? (John 7:45-48).
Jesus had a different message than that of the leadership in His day, and the way He and His message were disregarded and ridiculed reminds me of what we see today.
The influential rulers of today, (scientists, WHO, CDC, NIH, the Pope, along with the political, industrial, financial, and media leaders) don’t allow any ideas or views outside of their own. Anyone presenting different information or holding other viewpoints will suffer ridicule and peer pressure along with any other coercive tactic that can be applied—until they either capitulate of their own free will, or they are forced to do so. As was the case in our story from John chapter 7, they insinuate that leaders are infallible and must be trusted to discern truth and those who disagree with them are in the minority and are deceivers.
This is one way the Pope is so successful in getting his agenda onto the world stage. First, he asserts himself to be the moral leader of the world. Once he gains the majority on his side, he leads them to condemn any minority view. To him and those who follow him, anything that goes against what he teaches should be considered nothing more than a “conspiracy theory”. But shouldn’t Christians trust and listen to Jesus? After all, even Jesus had this to say about the leadership in His day.
“Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch (Mathew 15:14 KJV).
Satan loves it when his plans are disregarded as mere conspiracy theories, and the Bible warns us that the majority will be led to dismiss warnings of his plans in these last days. We have leaders in the world who, the Bible tells us, will one day form a confederacy with the anti-Christ power. Is it possible that we are living in that day? Do we think that this confederacy comes all at once, in an instant, or is it possible it has been forming for many years and will culminate in a grand deception in our day?
Satan has had 6,000 plus years to work out his plan to establish his kingdom upon this earth and lead mankind to abandon God, His law, and His word. He has used this time to develop a master plan to deceive, if possible, even the very elect.
Today we see a growing number of people, including many Christians who don’t believe the Bible, especially the prophecies concerning end time events. Many, who once clung to the Bible, now lead others to consider the Bible a relic of the past. By removing the Bible as the foundation of all truth, they have made it easier for the foundation to be laid upon the lies of Satan.
By using today’s standard of determining truth, many Biblical themes and stories would be labeled as mere conspiracy theories were they happening today. Here is a short list for consideration:
Creation in six literal days with the 7th day blessed as the Sabbath of the Lord and as a reminder to us of He who has created all things, hence why God said remember the Sabbath day.
Noah and the great flood. It was the “science” of Noah’s day that viewed the idea of rain as an impossibility.
The way in which the walls of Jericho fell.
The destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah by fire and brimstone for their wickedness.
The Exodus of Israel from Egypt with the parting of the Red Sea and all the other miracles during their journey into the Promised Land.
The story of David and Goliath.
The life, crucifixion, and resurrection of Jesus.
The prophecies in the books of Daniel and Revelation that have come true and those that haven’t yet happened. Mere conspiracies!
When you read the Bible from front to back studying its pages you come to the conclusion that it tells the story of the conflict between good and evil. To the unconverted heart it is conspiracy theory while to the watchful Chrisitan it tells of a conspiracy between good & evil. It is not a theory, but a reality.
Let’s be clear. Conspiracies and confederacies are real and have been around for a long time. The people conspired and confederated at the Tower of Babel to save themselves without God. The rebellion of Korah and his cohorts was a conspiracy against Moses and God. The Jewish leaders conspired and confederated to kill Jesus.
We need to recognize that Satan is the father of conspiracies and confederacies. This world has been trapped in the middle of the greatest conspiracy in the history of the universe since Lucifer while an angel in heaven began to cherish pride and jealousy in his heart. Lucifer conspired and confederated with other angels which ultimately led to rebellion against God, His law, and His Son. This rebellion in heaven has been transferred to this planet and since the fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, this world has been at the center of that great conspiracy (or Controversy). Sadly, the majority are blinded to this fact, but we should be well aware of it and warning the world that this great conspiracy is coming to its end, just as prophecy has forewarned it would.
Here are a few examples I believe are conspiracies against God:
The use of coercion, peer pressure, force, or any other tactic to move people to go against their own conscience for the “common good” of all. When it comes to what is considered the common good, you have to ask who decides what is the common good? Read the encyclical Rerum Novarum by Pope Leo VIII and Laudato Si by Pope Francis and you will see who determines what is the common good, and it isn’t you and me. It is a combination of church and state who make these determinations. Sound familiar? It should as it is a return to the dark ages, an age that the Catholic Church would very much like to return to. Take a good look at the world today, and you can easily see we are headed there
That God has not, and would not, give individuals the right to make decisions for themselves if that decision would negatively affect the common good of all. Somehow that doesn’t ring true when you consider that God allowed Adam and Eve to make decisions that have affected every human being that has come into this world after them. God respected their right to choose so much, that even though he knew what the consequences of their choices would mean for all humankind, He allowed them the freedom to make them.
Men in high places have conspired with Satan to teach that fallen human beings will someday usher in peace and safety for this planet; that mankind is intrinsically good and needs only to develop and harness the goodness within himself to achieve this utopian state. It will never happen as long as sin and its instigator reign in the hearts of humanity.
Trying to make the vaccine a religious duty, some have argued that Christians should take the Covid vaccine since it proves we love our neighbors as ourselves. But, loving our neighbor as ourselves can be just as easily represented by allowing them to exercise their God given freedom to make decisions for themselves.
When it comes to sickness and disease sin is the deadliest disease with a death rate of 100%. And while God offers the free cure for sin to all who will accept it, He doesn’t coerce or force anyone to receive it. He allows each individual to choose for themselves. Since God gives us this right, who among us can say we shouldn’t be allowed to exercise that right in matters of conscience?
Is it wrong to study prophetic implications leading up to the Sunday law? Some among us say we should wait until it is upon us before we speak of or against it. Thankfully Noah didn’t wait until it started to rain before giving the present truth warning for his time.
What are we waiting for? Do we really think we can wait until the Sunday law is upon the people before we warn them that it is coming?
Here is a good quote on the subject,
“Are we to wait until the fulfillment of the prophecies of the end before we say anything concerning them? Of what value will our words be then? Shall we wait until God's judgments fall upon the transgressor before we tell him how to avoid them? Where is our faith in the word of God? Must we see things foretold come to pass before we will believe what He has said? In clear, distinct rays light has come to us, showing us that the great day of the Lord is near at hand, "even at the doors." Let us read and understand before it is too late.” {CCh 64.4}
I am not suggesting that every theory about current events should be considered legitimate, but if it is grounded in the Bible and the Spirit of Prophecy, we should consider it before dismissing it as just another conspiracy theory. Soon the world will consider the book, The Great Controversy a conspiracy theory. This is already happening in our own ranks, as there is a growing number that are abandoning this book and its author. Is it possible we do this because it makes us uncomfortable to be seen as separate from other faiths? Are we to remain silent as we watch the world fall for the deceptions of Satan?
I think we find our answer in the following quote.
“God has revealed what is to take place in the last days, that His people may be prepared to stand against the tempest of opposition and wrath. Those who have been warned of the events before them are not to sit in calm expectation of the coming storm, comforting themselves that the Lord will shelter His faithful ones in the day of trouble. We are to be as men waiting for their Lord, not in idle expectancy, but in earnest work, with unwavering faith. It is no time now to allow our minds to be engrossed with things of minor importance. While men are sleeping, Satan is actively arranging matters so that the Lord's people may not have mercy or justice. The Sunday movement is now making its way in darkness. The leaders are concealing the true issue, and many who unite in the movement do not themselves see whither the undercurrent is tending. Its professions are mild and apparently Christian, but when it shall speak it will reveal the spirit of the dragon.” {CCh 335.2}
Jesus said the last days will be as those in the days of Noah. If Noah were alive today, he would warn us not to dismiss everything labeled a conspiracy theory, or we might just miss the boat!
