Danny Shelton Calls Out Loma Linda's Celebration of Pride Month

Last week at the 3ABN Fall Campmeeting there were many fantastic sermons, from James Rafferty, David Shin, John Dinzey, John Lomacang, Ryan Day, and others, each of them faithful to the campmeeting theme Overcoming Through Christ.

One sermon that stands out for us is the Sabbath sermon by Danny Shelton. The theme of the sermon is overcoming sin in the power of Christ. Danny rightly identified the Remnant of Bible prophecy as those who keep the Commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus. This was a perfect segue into politically correct trends that have crept into Adventism, not the least of which is affirming homosexuality in many of our institutions, rather than calling them to repentance. After an introduction, his message starts around the 50-minute mark.

At 1:09 in the video presentation, Shelton reads a statement from Richard Hart of Loma Linda University, where he is affirming and celebrating the LGBTQ agenda. This statement by Hart is troubling not only because of its capitulation to sinful cultural trends, but because of the way that it abandons sinners to their sins. Apostasy is the only word for it (Hosea 8:1—7).

This is—in our opinion—a powerful sermon, and a much needed one in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, reminiscent of the days of CD Brooks, when sin was called by its right name.

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).

“Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3).
