Marked for Destruction

Here is a recent video explaining Seventh-day Adventist prophetic interpretation and eschatology regarding the mark of the beast. It was made by my friend Art Humphrey and his production company, 3 A.M. Films, and features several people from my home church, including Jonathan Lovitt, Marcus Gendke, Dr. Jose Rosado, and Dr. Eric Walsh, as well as Steve Wohlberg.

I have mixed feelings about the heavy use of AI generated images. I understand that AI gives you a lot of images at very little cost, but I also feel that if it is not well done, it is distracting and can actually detract from the message of the film.

Art disagrees with me. This is his first foray into producing a full-length video with heavy use of AI-generated images. He argues that 1) everyone is doing it, and 2) it would be completely impossible to license the desired footage at a budget that independent producers like him could afford, and 3) without the AI images, the film would just be “talking heads” and not as interesting.

I am interested in your feedback on this issue, and on the video as a whole. How do you feel about images generated by artificial intelligence?
