Ayup, me luvs! ChurchMouse here, perched up in the rafters with a bit of the old cheese and a clear view of the goings-on below across the Pond in Seppo Land.
The Pulse has put it plain as a pikestaff: the woke era is far from finished. Eight biological men, styling themselves as women, have just won their midterm races. Author Kira Davis, chatting on the same programme, notes that this ought to raise serious questions about voter integrity—and, more sobering still, force Christian Believers to reckon with how far the American culture has shifted.
From up here among the cobwebs, it looks like the old order of “male and female” (Genesis 1:27) has been swapped for a theatre of pretence. Men in frocks and makeup taking seats meant for women, and the pious throng clapping as if it were progress rather than the falling away Paul warned us about (2 Timothy 3).
One is put in mind of 2 Timothy 3’s perilous times, when people will not endure sound doctrine but turn aside to fables. Whether you are pleased with the outcome or not, the deeper alarm is cultural: a people so confused about the most basic facts of creation that they elect the confusion itself.
This is a time to be courageous, a time to stop pretending that the emperor's new clothes are a matter of personal identity. One might even suggest that the church rediscover its backbone, if ever it had any. It is, after all, rather difficult to stand for biblical truth when one is permanently bending over backwards to accommodate the latest woke cultural fashion.
Cheerio, and mind the cheese,
