Letter of Concern Regarding Adventist Health Sent to Church Leaders

The following letter was sent to Fulcrum7 by a concerned church member in the Northern California Conference of Seventh-Day Adventists.  It was also sent to Union and Conference leaders.

The author is concerned that both the pastors and the leaders in said Conference and Union are not addressing a most important issue concerning Adventist Health---which operates 19 hospitals and numerous health clinics in the states of Washington, Oregon, California, and Hawaii.

Many of them are washing their hands saying

“I am a pastor of a church.  I do not work for Adventist Health, so it is not my problem.”  Others are saying that “I am an employee of Adventist Health, but these decisions were made at corporate headquarters without our input, therefore I am not responsible.”

In addition, the leaders of the Conferences are saying:

“Adventist Health is an independent organization whose only contact with the Seventh-Day Adventist Church is through the Board of Adventist Health which reports to the Pacific Union Conference of SDA.  That is why I cannot do anything about it either.”

The main purpose of publishing this letter is to inform the worldwide church that our pastors and leaders have not had the courage or bravery to confront this most pressing issue.  Please pray that God will convict their hearts concerning their sacred duty to listen to these warnings and to act accordingly.  The Letter:

“Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.  “He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more.  I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God" (Revelation 3:11-12).
