The Delusion of Supporting Abortion

July 11, 2022 Ayodeji Olumofe

Most people don't see what going on with the abortion debacle.

If its proponents would admit that abortion amounts to infanticide, but that they were going to have the right to it anyway, at least they would be intellectually honest.

What we have on our hands now is nothing short of delusion and intellectual dishonesty. We have a highly militant group of people who are willing to not only change the laws and definitions of science but also demand that everybody else accept these changes as the new normal or suffer.

Abortion supporters (even in the church) have pushed for changes in the understanding of the science of conception and human life in order to have their ways. We are told to accept the spurious position that life does not begin at conception. We are to unquestionably agree with the argument that women can kill their unborn children at any time, for any reason, and at will.

Tobacco & Alcohol

Society believes that tobacco is dangerous to your health. That is why we have labels on the packets . Also, there is no denying the dangers of alcohol consumption. That's why we have warnings, checks, and regulations in place. Now, to deny the dangers of these products and argue that all regulations should be thrown out will make one a moral anarchist and a medical tyrant.

LGBTQ

Apart from abortion, another place I see this level of delusion happening is with the issue of homosexuality. The LGBT+ supporters have lobbied for changes in laws, definitions, and words to suit their agendas.

For centuries, science has taught that sex is assigned at birth and immutable. But today, we are told to dispose of this age-old evidential, and scientifically proven truth. We are constantly being bombarded with the lie that sex is fluid, not innate, and ever-changing. And to question these nonsensical arguments is to be called a bigot.

The same principle is at work in the issue of abortion. It does seem to me that the abortion crowd is trying to ease their conscience by changing the vocabulary and the science of human reproduction and sexuality. They are aggressively pushing governments to pass laws that recognize their right to murder helpless and innocent unborn children. It's as if they believed that legality is the same as thing as morality, and that official sanction means their position is right.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I have bad news for abortion supporters, and this may burst their bubble. Just because something is legal does not mean it's moral, and if something has official approval it does not mean it's right. No, governmental approval won't acquit you of murdering your own children.

Yes, governments who fail to protect the lives of innocent, helpless unborn children are complicit, but the bulk of the guilt of this genocide falls squarely on the men and women dishonest and deluded enough to not see that life begins at conception, and that abortion is murder, pure and simple.

It seems the ability to respect differences of opinion is lost and many feel justified in using destructive and violent methods to silence those with whom they disagree.

This letter reaffirms the world church’s biblical teaching on human sexuality and created identity. More importantly, it warns that some Adventist schools have accommodated unbiblical views, and rightly states that the Conference cannot encourage families to send youth to such schools.
