Loma Linda University Turns Away Students For Declining Flu Vaccine

May 7, 2025 Fulcrum7 Staff

Macy McIntosh, a Southern Adventist University graduate, applied to enroll in Loma Linda University this year and was accepted. Accepted on condition that she receive a flu vaccine. She objected to the demand, only to be told that being vaccinated for flu was not negotiable and they would not grant a religious exemption. Here is a letter from Macy:

Observations

  • What is the vaccine for anyway? If it is to keep you from getting the flu, what does it matter what anyone else does? In other words, if everyone else is obligated (mandated) to be vaccinated, and the thing works, why is Loma Linda University all aflutter about a young student who opts out?

  • It’s a political test.

  • The C-19 pandemic became a testbed for deploying conformist measures under the approving eye of the CDC, NIH, and the Biden Administration. And the GC is all about that, as evidenced by their 2015 Statement and their 2021 double-down Statement. Tom Lemon is on the board of Loma Linda, by the way. Yes, that Tom Lemon, who could not find any rebellion amongst the rebellious Unions and Conferences who flagrantly defied three General Conference Session decisions not to ordain women as pastors.

  • But, while we are on the topic, the problem wasn’t just the China Virus. It’s that the SDA church and most of its organizations adopted the China Model to fight it.

  • In 2020, the Adventist Church ‘health experts’ adopted China’s draconian lockdowns without knowing how well they really worked. Then, doubling and tripling down, they adopted masks and mRNA jabs without knowing how well they worked, either. Now we know. Masks didn’t work, and jabs didn’t stop the spread of Covid. A guy with two vaccines and three boosters could give Covid to another guy with five vaccines and four boosters.

  • Spurning natural immunity, elites in the church became an echo chamber measuring their own success by how much freedom of conscience they were able to override, while pretending to support it.  Claims that the Church supported liberty of conscience sounded
impressive, but meant absolutely nothing. They were the pet obsessions of a virtue signaling bureaucracy that not only had minimal understanding of the problem, but its grip on power made it the problem.

  • After it became obvious that the China Model didn’t work, health experts (SDA and others) moved into the scapegoat portion of the crisis. The China Model had failed, all that was left was shifting the blame to more conservative church members and away from the cultural elites.

  • Branch Covidians in the Adventist Church claimed that they were superior because they were “listening to the science”. They weren’t listening to the science, which is not an oracle and does not give interviews. Instead, they were obeying their geopolitical partners
(UN and WHO) and adopting their narrative in order to appear relevant. It looks like Loma Linda University still is. Rant over.

  • Good for you for sticking up for your beliefs, Miss McIntosh. The SDA church needs more young people like you. The Lord will find ways for you to serve Him that don’t violate your freedom of conscience. It might even make a good follow-up story.

****

Macy McIntosh was born in Castle Rock, Washington and grew up in Montana. She attended Southern Adventist University in Collegedale, Tennessee, and graduated in December 2024 with two degrees: a bachelor’s in health and wellness and an associate’s in pre-nutrition and dietetics. She enjoys cooking and baking, as well as spending time outdoors—especially hiking. In her own words, “I have a strong desire to help and serve others by following the example Christ set for us.”
