More Churches Host a World Church Affirmation Sabbath

World Church Affirmation Sabbath began in the Upper Columbia Conference.  It was conceived and implemented by lay members to demonstrate support for the world church and its decisions.

Since then, it has expanded around the country as a lay-led movement to affirm the world church by:

  • Holding meetings on Sabbath afternoons on topics that affirm our identity as Seventh-day Adventists and,
  • By encouraging one another.  These meetings allow lay members to communicate, interact and network together on vital topics affecting the church.

It has become apparent to many lay members of the church that positive direction must come from us.  So we work in cooperation with Pastors and church workers to provide that support

We are aware of the unique time that we occupy in the redemptive history of planet earth.  It is too late for us as lay members to just be pew warmers.  We must arise and shine and state positively who we are and that we are about our Father’s business, his beloved church.  Our goal is to bring positive support.

World Church Affirmation Sabbath will be taking place on May 26 with one location having their meetings on June 9.  The theme for this affirmation Sabbath is “Affirming the Pillars of Our Faith.”  You will not want to miss it.  For more information visit our website.  I encourage you to attend the location nearest you.

Plans are in place for a follow up WCAS date of September 8.  The theme will be “Who Shall be Able to Stand?”  It will be held in multiple states.  If you want to hold a WCAS event affirming our world Seventh-day Adventist church in your area, contact the WCAS Planning Committee at affirmationsabbath.org for assistance.
