The leader of the global left, Pope Francis, is championing the right of all workers to unionize, just as economic activity is poised to resume as the pandemic threat eases.
The pontiff stressed the needs of the most vulnerable workers, including migrants and women in a video message Thursday to participants at a conference organized by the International Labor Organization, a United Nations agency based in Geneva.
As we return to post-pandemic economic activity, Pope Francis asks that people avoid any form of discrimination, including “consumerism” or “nationalism”.
“We must look for solutions that will help us build a new future of work based on decent and dignified working conditions” always “promoting the common good”.
Interestingly, many Catholics are leaving the Roman Catholic Church, disturbed by the socialist political leftist penchant of the current pope. Some comments from Roman Catholics,
“Pope Francis is a Socialist. He should limit his public comments to his religious responsibility to communicate what humans need to do to comply with God's rules. Forming unions is not part of that. Francis is driving members away from our religion.”
“I am one of those who left. I will return when there is a real Pope.”
“I wonder if the Swiss Guards are unionized? I wonder if they are allowed to strike for higher pay, more vacation days, etc.”
“That's because this guy is a socialist. He's been a disaster as the Pope and I can't wait for him to be removed or retire. He's done more harm than good and views on climate change and socialist workers unions are incongruent with Church teaching.”
“This is why, for many of us, that Sunday mass has become a thing of the past.”
“You're the pope, you're not a businessman nor are you a politician.”
“What does unionizing have to do with Catholic teachings? The Cardinals and Bishops need to impeach this socialist Pope.”
This is certainly not the first time that Francis has advocated for labor unions. He stated in 2017 that trade unions were essential to society.
In July 2017, he praised them as being “innovative and prophetic.” Interesting nomenclature, Francis.
Trade/labor unions are indeed prophetic. They were prophesied as being one of the primary components of the oncoming time of trouble,
"The trades unions will be one of the agencies that will bring upon this earth a time of trouble such as has not been since the world began" (LDE 116).
Those who claim to be the children of God are in no case to bind up with the labor unions that are formed or that shall be formed. This the Lord forbids. Cannot those who study the prophecies see and understand what is before us? The transgressors of the law of God have taken sides with their Leader, the General of rebellion. He understands how to devise his Satanic schemes and through whom to work for the carrying out of them. He is striving to lead every soul to take sides with him, and under the influence of his temptations, thousands are binding themselves up in bundles, ready to be consumed by the fires of the last day. 4MR 78

The unholy desires of Lucifer–-as he mutated into Satan–-are also summed up in this one word “More!” (Isaiah 14:12-17). He wanted to take more out of the system then he was able to put back.
This wrong spirit introduces friction into the universe and ultimately leads to violence (John 8:44). That explains why labor unions tend towards violence so easily.
The work of the people of God is to prepare for the events of the future, which will soon come upon them with blinding force. In the world gigantic monopolies will be formed. Men will bind themselves together in unions that will wrap them in the folds of the enemy. A few men will combine to grasp all the means to be obtained in certain lines of business. Trades unions will be formed, and those who refuse to join these unions will be marked men. 2SM 142
