Most Tattooed Man in Brazil Having His Ink Removed After Conversion to Christ

January 15, 2026 Gerry Wagoner

Leandro de Souza is a Brazilian man who gained fame as the "most tattooed man in Brazil," covering 95% of his body with ink, but is now undergoing painful, extensive laser removal after finding Christian faith and wanting his outside to reflect his inner transformation.

”Truly, nothing is impossible with our Lord. When the power of God works in us, He can truly change us and give us the right path."

Leandro de Souza is documenting on Instagram the process of removing his over 170 tattoos after converting to Christianity

  • The photographer, 36, was once known as the most tattooed man in Brazil. He got his first inking at age 13.

  • “I felt like a circus attraction” said Leandro.

  • "It hurts a lot, no matter how much anesthesia they use, the pain is horrible," Souza said of removing his tattoos, per local news outlet O Globo

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17).
