They base it on interpretations like aligning Christ's ascension (40 days after resurrection, on Iyar 28 in the Jewish calendar, a Friday/Sabbath) with a matching Gregorian date in 2026, combined with numerical/prophetic "analytics."
This has apparently spread enough in the Northern Davao region (via pamphlets, teachings, or activities) to prompt the local mission's official denial and clarification.

This fits a long historical pattern of date-setting for the Second Coming (which mainstream SDA has long rejected since the 1844 Millerite disappointment era). The statement is a standard denominational response to discourage confusion among members and the public.

May 15 has come and gone, along with the credibility of those making this false claim.
