Third Grader Forced To Remove 'Jesus Loves Me' Mask

Apparently, one good way to bring mask mandates to an abrupt end is to buy one that says “Jesus Loves Me'“ on it. That gets the PC woke crowd up in arms.

A third-grade pupil in Mississippi was robbed of her First Amendment rights when her school forced her to take off a mask that said “Jesus Loves Me,” a new lawsuit claims.

Lydia Booth, 9, was ordered by her principal to remove the mask Oct. 13 at Simpson Central Elementary School in Pinola — claiming that it went against district policy, news station WLBT reported.

The school later issued a statement banning any mask that displays “political, religious, sexual or any inappropriate symbols, gestures or statements that may be offensive, disruptive or deemed distractive to the school environment.”

The Alliance Defending Freedom filed a federal lawsuit in October on her family’s behalf claiming the district violated her free speech. The case is working its way through the court system.

“Public schools have a duty to respect the free expression of students that the First Amendment guarantees to them,” ADF attorney Michael Ross said.

“Other students within the school district have freely worn masks with the logos of local sports teams or even the words ‘Black Lives Matter.’ This student deserves an equal opportunity to peacefully express her beliefs.”

Lydia told her parents she would like to be a missionary someday and that’s why she wants to wear this mask. It was troubling to her when she was forced to remove this mask because the message means something to her and it’s her choice to wear it.

But Lydia eventually removed her mask because the school threatened escalating discipline, up to and including suspension. The ADF lawsuit is asking the court to halt officials from enforcing their policy on this young girl, guilty only of a mask that says “Jesus Loves Me.”

The Bottom Line: Public schools should be demonstrating the First Amendment values and teaching to students, not suppressing them.

Commentary

‘Oh, our culture isn’t that bad”, WokeLiberals in the church tell us. ‘The real problem is that somebody may have had a ‘racist’ thought somewhere, sometime, and they need to be canceled. This little privileged girl (she’s caucasian) shouldn’t be forcing her religion on people, that’s oppressive, and probably a violation of church and state. Our religious liberty department knows best about these things.’

And they wouldn’t dare stand up for this little girl, like ADF is.

So, a sweet nine year old girl from a Christian home should stop wearing a Jesus Loves Me mask, but a BLM Wokemask is fine?

How did we ever get to such a ludicrous godless place in our thinking, yet convince ourselves that we are more moral than those other ‘Christians?

Easy. Our godless culture made wokeness into a religion, and misguided Adventists jumped on board. Next stop, godless humanism.
