The Bloom Church in Portland Oregon is a church plant sponsored by the Oregon Conference. I mean, the super woke Oregon Conference.
Pastored by Colby Maier, the Bloom (Adventist) Church changed their worship time to Sunday morning at 10:30 last month on April 9. They have been meeting on Sunday mornings ever since. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, maybe their clock is malfunctioning.
Other things that the Bloom church teaches is,
It’s all about Jesus. We know who Jesus is (John 17:3). They don’t define what ‘it’ is. Usually this is a trendy way to jettison doctrine and standards and still sound ‘faithy’ while doing it.
They provide ‘safe spaces’ for people—a useful service in Portland which has more triggered people per square yard of defecated sidewalk than Los Angeles even.
They encourage transformation. That’s good if it is by the renewing of your mind so that you “may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God” (Romans 12:2). That’s bad if you encourage transgenderism and transformational festivals.
They teach sustainability. Of course they do. It is a buzz word for environmentalism, both radical and apocalyptic. It’s hip.
They love coffee. Of course they do.
They are into social justice. Anyone who is surprised, please raise your hand.
Here’s hoping that they get their clock fixed. If not, they could be a day late during the Last Days. That’s not good.
