Pastor Ron Kelly and Jim Micheff met at the Lake Union office building on January 30th. Justin Ringstaff (MISDA secretary) and Tom Wilson (Village Church head elder) were present, as well as the lake Union President, Ken Denslow as an observer. The meeting lasted around three hours.
During this meeting, there was no change or softening in the line that Jim Micheff had chosen against Ron Kelly.
Prior to the meeting, the Village Church elders suggested that a meeting between Ron Kelly and Jim Micheff occur in a private place with the participation of a third party from the General Conference. That suggestion was rejected by Micheff.
During the meeting, it was suggested by Tom Wilson that Ron Kelly should have an opportunity to address the MISDA executive committee on February 11 at their next meeting. Micheff was told that the Village Church leadership and congregation would not be satisfied with the way Ron Kelly was handled unless he had another opportunity to address the MISDA Executive Committee.
Micheff said he himself would address the executive committee first and if they wished to speak with Ron, he would call and invite him to come there. Micheff is the chairman of the MISDA executive committee.
Pastor Ron Kelly
Ken Denslow indicated that he heard something ‘new’ in the three hour dialogue. We are not told what that revelation is, but Denslow is a member of the MISDA Executive Committee. The Village Church elders have demonstrated a remarkable resolve throughout this abusive situation, and Ron Kelly has maintained an admirable Christlike attitude. We’ll see how it plays out.
We feel that it would be appropriate for you to contact members of the MISDA Executive Committee and express your thoughts to them. Here is a downloadable link of contact information for members of the MISDA EXCOM.
