Ron Kelly was one of two speakers scheduled to speak at the Grey Nomads Camp Meeting in May 2—10 this year. According to the NNSW president Cristian Copaceanu, Ron Kelly was cancelled as a speaker due to some sort of solidarity with the Michigan Conference.
This was a good point:
“The cancellation of Ron Kelly by NNSW shows how administrator’s first instinct is to protect the administration even if there is no threat. It also reveals how insincere they are in treatment of those who fall afoul of the hierarchy. Is a proactive cancellation for an employment dispute 10,000 miles away now the standard procedure for the church administration?”
Apparently so, in some quarters.
