On August 2, Oakwood University Church invited Claudia Allen to speak for Sabbath worship. She did.
Claudia Allen is from Michigan and currently lives in Columbia, Maryland. Her Facebook page introduces her as a “Nonprofit Leader | Speaker | DEI Coach.” She is a social justice activist who has spoken in numerous SDA left-wing forums, such as this one: LINK.
Her ‘sermon’ at Oakwood last month begins with these words,
“If we're honest this afternoon, the second coming is nothing more than another disappointing delay” (3:10:07).
She goes on to list several things that have contributed to the delay,
The Great Disappointment (Huh?)
1888
“Lucy Byard denied health care in a white Adventist hospital !!”
The SDA Church rejected the ordination of women in 2015 (3:11:03)
She then lists several activist reasons why we should want out of this earth.
Pandemics kill millions (reference to Covid-19?)
Billionaires have money and poor people have poverty
Whole communities can be denied food, shelter, and health care because of their nationality likely a reference to illegal immigration.
Nations thrive economically on war
Palestinian children uh die of starvation uh and air strikes uh.
Masked men uh claiming to be ICE agents uh arrest people in churches and courts and places of employment uh and deport them to countries of which they have no origin uh (3:12:04). Name a church where this is happening. I’m not aware of any, in spite of the NAD’s fervor over the topic.
Antarctica is melting. Antarctic melt extent dropped to nearly zero or below average from February 1 to March 15. There is no statistically significant decline in Arctic ice extent since 2005.
She goes on to say that Adventist preaching on the signs of Christ’s Return is only frustrating people.
There is a smidgen of truth to this; some SDA’s give the impression that they rejoice over every earthquake or hurricane more than they rejoice over one sinner who repents (Luke 15:7). That said, Jesus calls us to discern the times we are living in.
Observations
Screaming the word “blessed” is actually more of a curse (3:20:04).
Where is the gentle and quiet spirit which the Lord desires for his true daughters? Miss Allen does not possess it (1 Peter 3:3-4).
The people in the audience egging her on are more troubling than her ‘message.
I like that Miss Allen is dressed modestly here.
DEI and CRT (Critical Race Theory) are empty substitutes for the Holy Spirit. Oakwood has probably passed the point of no return on DEI, Critical Race Theory, and angry political leftism.

“This is who Paul had in mind when he said the women should be quiet in the church.”
“This sermon is confusing”
She's screaming to attract emotionalism!! What was the scripture???
“When I searched on Google for her name “SDA Claudia Allan” and scroll down a little bit it says “non profit leader, speaker, DEI coach” why am I not surprised? We were right all along! She is an activist!”
“It's really ironic that while she is screeching criticism about people not understanding the Bible, she is GROSSLY misinterpreting scripture. Seriously, who keeps giving this woman the pulpit? It's a disservice to her. Such recognition is only making her more bold and arrogant in her foolishness. I know from other features that she does NOT have a teachable spirit and it's only going to get worse.”
“All that and she still didn’t say anything.”
“All I hear from this sister is contempt and anger against the what Adventism is fundamentally about. She only needs to read a copy of Desire of Ages chapter 68...and she'll be rightly educated.”
“Just like her dad. More politics than Bible.”
“I was waiting for someone to take her off the pulpit but i guess its another disappointed delay”
“That guy in the congregation at 4:44 yelling "preach, preacher" should be utterly ashamed of himself.”
“This is some serious word salad. SMH”
She is angry with God. Hope deferred has caused her to hate God. She is disappointed and then added a twist to it by (error) reversing scripture. As a woman in ministry myself I would have taken her off the platform. Her views on eschatology, judgement, sin are distorted. Basically she has blasphemous intent due to her own anger, frustration with God. It's safe to say one can be offended with God when we don't understand the journey. Matthew 24 is simple to understand. "Through many tribulations we must enter into the kingdom of God"
“She is not a pastor. She is liberal minded and more into social justice issues than the gospel. She is not preaching material.”
“This is a angry woman who has distorted doctrine and belief system. Troubling message I can admit. Curse God and die.”
“In the past 2 or so years, there have been a string of mostly women Pastors preaching that the church should no longer focus on certain things it always preached. A few months ago another one was preaching against our utilisation of Daniel and Revelation and saying we need to stop preaching prophecy. Now this one is basically saying stop preaching Matthew 24. Most are black women Pastors doing this.”
“What else do you expect from oakwood. I mean seriously they created a george floyd scholarship after his death. They honored a criminal and said he was a good christian man. But you bring up the facts and they call you a bigot.”
“Truth is, she would’ve been better off preaching about the Tower of Babel—because she’s the living example of what that looks like.”
“We can be called SDA but names and comfortably seated while the the SDA by faith and cherecters are been sealed women have no rights to stand during divine services SDAs where is your faith and the truth?”
Summary
I am much more interested in what is happening internally and experientially in people’s lives, than I am in what is happening politically and internationally.
