On August 26, 2026, the Administrative Committee of the Northern New England Conference of Seventh-day Adventists issued a pastoral letter to members addressing several current tensions, while calling the church back to Scripture, the Three Angels’ Messages, and our remnant mission.
This letter reaffirms the world church’s biblical teaching on human sexuality and created identity. More importantly, it warns that some Adventist schools have accommodated unbiblical views, and rightly states that the conference cannot encourage families to send youth to such schools. It rejects identity-politics frameworks that permanently divide people into victims and victimizers.
It acknowledges that a 2021 GC COVID statement caused real harm to some conscientious members, recommits to defending liberty of conscience as God-given rather than granted by church or state, and upholds the First Amendment heritage of Adventist pioneers. The letter closes by urging renewed consecration, loyalty to Scripture and church order, and prayer for revival in the East. In other words: It’s great. Really great!
Walk with the King, and be a blessing!
