Starting in 2024, the Village Church in Berrien Springs MI, has been a revolving door for pastors.
First, Ron Kelly was fired in late 2024 by a grumpy Michigan Conference administration. Then Tariq Patel was appointed by the Conference as head pastor. He left. Then Jay Gallimore was appointed by the Conference as pastor. He left, after delivering a blistering final sermon, accusing the church of chicken fighting. Then Daniel Gordon was appointed as pastor. He just left. Now the conference just appointed Taylor Hinkle as pastor of Village Church.
Instead of listening to the Village Church’s concerns about their strong arm tactics against Conrad Vine and Ron Kelly, the conference has dug into their position, losing roughly 5 million dollars in the meantime. This has forced them to cut staff. Kameron DeVasher, Justin Ringstaff, Andy and Laura Im have all left the Michigan Conference in a very short period of time.
Instead of admitting that they may have acted rashly, the conference continues to appoint pastors at VC without input from the congregation. Kind of proves the point, eh?
