Annual Council 2019 kicks off with a brief song and worship time. The theme for Annual Council is Faithfulness in Christian Lifestyle. That seems a fitting subtext, as we consider our task in this culture, one with numerous challenges and unprecedented opportunity.

Tonight and tomorrow will be the LEAD Conference. LEAD stands for Leadership, Education and Development. We will hear from various aspects of missions, and youth ministry initiatives.

The first Conference to have a youth ministries department was Ohio, in 1899.

51% of the world population is under the age 25.

Gary Blanchard gives an update on youth mission. Calls youth to live dangerously.

One Year Mission presentation. All Divisions have become involved with many volunteer activities. 6,218 Youth and over 400 cities are involved in One Year Mission.

Lisa Beardsley-Hardy gives an update on education.

80% of young people around the world possess a cell-phone.
