Potomac Conference Ordains Another Woman in Virginia

On March 8, Charles Tapp and Jose Vazquez of the Potomac Conference ordained Griselda Jobe at the Piney Forest Seventh-day Adventist Church in Virginia.

Liberals in the church believe that these ordinations reveal their courage and conviction. I agree that they seem to have convictions. Unfortunately such actions are not based upon a biblical worldview, which plainly states that leadership in the church (both pastors and elders) is male. What we are seeing with rebellious (WO) ordinations is cultural conformity and virtue signalling conviction. Some individuals are even gushing about it on Facebook.

During the ordination ceremony, Tapp said:

[Griselda Jobe is] “duly authorized under the provisions of the Seventh Day Adventist Church to perform, not some, but all of the functions of the ministerial office. You can be a conference president now.”

These actions (and others) also reveal that General Conference Session decisions are meaningless and can be ignored and rejected with impunity. Why even have a GC Session, if decisions made by the world church can be squashed by church administrators at will? Why even do that?

Apparently they have more authority than the world church in session. Maybe we should just ask them once a year what the world church should do, and what the church manual should say. It might save the cost of organizing a GC Session.
