Adventist writers Heather and Seth Day arrested in Texas; Seth is also charged with sexual assault of a child.
Heather Thompson Day and Seth Michael Day—former Andrews University communication faculty and co-authors of the Christian bestseller I’ll See You Tomorrow—were arrested September 24, 2026, in Johnson County, Texas, according to public jail records. Both were booked on a charge of injury to a child, elderly, or disabled individual with intent to cause bodily injury. Bond was set at $100,000 for each. Records show Seth Day received an additional charge September 25 of sexual assault of a child, with bond set at $250,000.
Heather Day, who publishes as Heather Thompson Day, previously served as an associate professor of communication at Andrews University. She is also an author and interdenominational speaker. Seth Day earlier taught and worked as a chaplain at Andrews and is listed as an assistant professor of psychology at Southwestern Adventist University.

Southwestern Adventist University has been informed that Seth Day, a faculty member of our school, was taken into custody. Mr. Day has been placed on administrative leave. We are fully cooperating with law enforcement. We understand that the current allegations do not involve SWAU students, staff, or other faculty members. The safety of our University community remains our first priority. We will share additional details as appropriate.”
Law enforcement has not released further details about the allegations. The story is still developing. There is an American premise of innocent until proven guilty.
Heather Thompson Day was a speaker in Dayton, Ohio last year. She also wrote (on Twitter) about how much she didn’t like Trump flags in Berrien Springs, while looking for a house there.
