You Can't Be Born Again if You Haven’t Been Born at All -- Massachusetts Abortion Bill Passes

August 11, 2026 NewsHound

Massachussets—Democratic Gov. Maura Healey was met with applause and smiles as she signed away Massachusetts' gestational limits on abortion, making the deep-blue state the 10th to permit the procedure up to birth.

Under the Prioritizing Patient Access to Care Act, health care workers will have greater discretion in determining whether to perform an abortion later in pregnancy, without facing legal penalties under the state's previous restrictions.

The bill is scheduled to take effect in 90 days. Previously, state law generally prohibited abortions after 24 weeks, with limited exceptions.

Massachusetts now joins Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon and Vermont in removing gestational age limits on abortion, along with the District of Columbia.

Healey framed the legislation as a "shield" against national efforts under President Donald Trump and Republicans to roll back abortion protections following the Supreme Court's overturning of Roe v. Wade.

“As governor, I promise that no matter what Donald Trump or Republicans in Congress or the Supreme Court does, we're going to continue to make sure that women and families have access to the abortion care that they need, right here in Massachusetts", Healey said.

Pro Life Response

SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser condemned the signing of the "egregious" law in a statement Monday, arguing that late-term abortions can involve dismemberment of the fetus.

"It should shock the conscience that tens of thousands of unborn Americans are barbarically dismembered limb by limb and torn apart every single year," she said. "Sadly, that number will only increase with Gov. Healey’s approval of the Abortion Up Until Birth Bill. The GOP must abandon the ‘leave it to the states’ position – a stance that permits egregious late-term abortion laws like this one – and advance national protections for unborn children."

Dannenfelser also argued that the U.S. is among a small number of countries that permit abortion throughout pregnancy.

"Without a minimum national standard, the United States remains 1 of only 8 countries worldwide that allows abortion at any point in pregnancy. We must do all we can to turn the page on America’s ugly chapter of late-term abortion."

Some of the other countries are China, Mexico, North Korea, Canada, and Vietnam.

Observations

People often transfer the affection they should have for babies to animals. Interestingly, pro environmentalist individuals often tend to also be pro-abortion.

The Roman vomitoriums are the equivalent of today’s abortion mills.  Both are driven by unrestrained appetite, and seek to experience physical pleasure without consequences.  Vomitoriums abort their food.

Healey was met with applause and smiles as she signed the bill. You'd think abortion was equal with a cure for cancer, the way it's celebrated. Unbelievable. Humans celebrating the killing of their progeny.

Instead of being for a political party, let us be against sin & corruption in our own lives and in the leadership of our country (2 Peter 2:19).

One concern we have is with abortion in America is that we've broken the survival bond between generations. We've destroyed so many who would have been born that the destroyers will have no one to care for them in their old age. You cannot slaughter the next generation wholesale, then expect them to be there to care for you in your later years.

This debate, for both sides, is not just about the abortion rate; it’s not just about the legality of it. It’s a symbolic debate. It’s symbolic on the pro-choice side about the autonomy of women and their freedom to do what they want with their bodies. On the pro-life side, they care not just about the regulations around abortion, but whether there’s a moral affirmation of life.

Killing an unborn baby is not “reproductive Heath,” and abortion has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with “reproductive health in 99.9% of cases. If you cannot promote your position without lying, that should be a red flag that your position is wrong and/or immoral.

Could it be that we (SDA) have had a lethargic position on abortion due to a distorted view of morality, fostered by an illogical religious liberty worldview that condemns all things conservative in society?

The reason that NAD is not interested in condemning abortion is this: For many of them, Social Justice has replaced the Everlasting Gospel as the ultimate expression of human obedience and fulfillment. And, Social Justice is committed to abortion rights, marketed through its sub-text ‘Reproductive Justice.’

Have you noticed how WO, homosexuality, and abortion seem to be enthusiastically supported by the same groups? Even in the Church.

And while I have the microphone, I'll just throw this out there. I would like to propose that the church divests itself from Adventist/Advent Health and sell it off to worldlings and let them practice allopathy and perform abortions and sponsor race cars. Beg God for forgiveness and use our resources to establish health resorts, sanitariums, naturopathy centers and natural/health food stores around the world, and really effect people's lives positively, in the name of God, for better health.

The Bible consistently reveals life as God’s gift and calls for the protection of human life, made in God’s image, at every stage of life and development.

What is needed? A simple childlike faith (Matthew 18:2-4). When we justify the killing of children (abortion), we are inadvertently killing the Lord's purest example of saving faith.

To people who have experienced abortion, there is hope and forgiveness in Jesus. Take it to Him in confession, and allow the Lord to heal that spot inside you through His mighty forgiveness (Psalm 103:10). There is hope.

"Heal me, Lord, and I will be healed; save me and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise" (Jeremiah 17:14).

This letter reaffirms the world church’s biblical teaching on human sexuality and created identity. More importantly, it warns that some Adventist schools have accommodated unbiblical views, and rightly states that the Conference cannot encourage families to send youth to such schools.
