Massachusetts is widely considered one of the most liberal states in the United States. It consistently votes for Democratic candidates in national elections, features a heavily Democratic state legislature, and was the first U.S. state to legalize same-sex marriage. However,
A proposed Massachusetts bill would create a permanent, taxpayer-funded commission to solely promote and support Muslims.
The controversial Massachusetts measure, Senate Bill S.2134 and House Bill H.3351, is entitled, "An Act promoting the civil rights and inclusion of American Muslims in the commonwealth."
The proposed legislation aims to establish a state-funded commission focused on Muslim Americans. Its goals include promoting Muslim participation in public life "to combat Islamophobia."
The Boston Herald reports the bill would even form a commission "prioritizing qualified American Muslims in Massachusetts for jobs in state government over other residents of different religious backgrounds."
Commentary
We wonder if the General Conference PARL will oppose this measure as a violation of the separation between church and state.
If this bill was to promote Christians in government, we suspect that PARL would vigorously speak against it.
The liberal left is extraordinarily and mysteriously protective of Islam. Why is that? Because they share a common enemy: Christianity.
