Yesterday, there was a testimony from a man from Ethiopa, named Zawude who sought shelter during a bad rainstorm. He took shelter in a house church and was there exposed to the Adventist Message. It resonated with him, and he and his wife became Seventh-day Adventist Christians.
The story highlighted the need for church plants or home churches in countries such as Ethiopia, where languages and cultures are numerous. And, where rainstorms pop up with all the fury of a beast or a dragon.
House churches can serve areas that churches cannot. They are lighter and more nimble, and usually have a homey or welcoming vibe. After all, they are in some hospitable person’s home.
House churches need some sort of accountability, and that can be achieved by networking with other SDA groups or companies.
Drone Strike
On May 30, an ADRA warehouse in Ukraine in the city of Izium, Kharkiv region, was damaged as a result of a nighttime drone attack. A combat drone struck the warehouse where food parcels from the United Nations were stored.
The drone hit the wall of the building, causing a fire that destroyed a large portion of the humanitarian cargo. In addition, ADRA’s cargo trucks parked beside the building were damaged. A security guard who was in the warehouse during the strike was unharmed.
The Parade
Tomorrow, the parade of nations occurs in the America Center Dome in Saint Louis. It is the punctuation point after ten days of meetings and presentations. Flags from over 200 countries are paraded around.
In 2022, the Vatican flag was flown at the Seventh-day Adventist 61st General Conference (GC) Session in St Louis, Missouri on June 11. While some church folk are okay with it and have offered stout defense, other members of the church are raising a red flag against the Vatican flag. A vibrant discussion continues to take place across social media platforms about the necessity of having the Vatican represented at the Seventh-day Adventist General Conference Session. Look for it.
Our advice? Make sure you and your loved ones are standing under the blood-red banner of Prince Emannuel. That’s the only flag that matters.
