Oh, Good Grief !! Now Fruits & Vegetables are Bad for Us ?

'Healthy Foods' May Be Linked to Lung Cancer in Young Non-Smokers

according to new research… LINK. Wait, what?

It's like the universe is trolling us, at this point.

“Eat your vegetables” they said. It'll prevent cancer, they said. Decades of public health campaigns, food pyramids, celebrity chefs, kale cults and coffee enemas... all so we could discover that the "clean" produce aisle is quietly marinating your lungs in death residue.

Especially if you're young, female, and never lit up a cigarette. The irony is so thick you could spread it on your whole-grain toast. As Adventists with a vibrant health message that landed us smack dab in a blue zone, we're out here avoiding obvious villains (smoking, pollution) only for the heroes (broccoli, berries, quinoa) to pull a plot twist.

At this rate, the only safe diet is going to be a whiff of organic steam and a lettuce leaf.

You can’t win. I saw a ‘doctor’ on Facebook recently saying that blueberries might be bad for you, and bananas will turn you into a fatty. Y’know, you can find a study or doctor to condemn almost any good thing, or praise any bad thing. In fact, I’ll wager you one dollar that somewhere out there is a study that says heroin is good for you. I can sense it.

Aha!!

Sure, wash your produce, and consider organic when possible. But avoid putting your faith in science, especially when science told us that boys can be girls and vice-versa.

If I have to choose between Ellen White and yet another ‘scientific’ study that throws up their hands in glee while saying coffee is good for you, alcohol is beneficial, and fruits and vegetables are bad for you, I’ll go with Mrs. White every time. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to throw this ‘scientific’ study away, and pick up the Ministry of Healing.

Harumph,

G

“And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food” (Genesis 1:29).
